Pets and Animal Control
The City of Meridian does require for all dogs to be registered with the City Hall within 30 days of moving into the municipality. It is a $3.00 fee with proof of rabies vaccination. They will receive a tag for their collar with a number registered to them. This helps in case they escape or get scared and flee the property. It allows us the ability to get them home quickly and safely.
*After 30 days it is a violation of the City Ordinances to not have them registered. *
The City of Meridian does have animal control. If you have concerns with animals being mistreated or not taken care of please contact the City Hall at 254-435-2381.
All animals are to be on the owner's property and not roaming the streets and neighborhoods. If animals become a nuisance and are reported, there are City Ordinances in place that allow law enforcement to ticket the owner and/or the one caring for the animal(s).
