
The Meridian Economic Development Corporation exists to provide a portion of local sales tax earned locally back into the businesses and surrounding area in Meridian, Texas.
The Meridian Economic Development Corporation ( MEDC ) is a not-for-profit corporation, a “Type B” sales tax entity created by the City of Meridian Texas to improve the quality of life for the people who live and work in and around Meridian. The MEDC has been designated by the City of Meridian as its confidential, no cost, single point of contact for marketing and economic affairs.

To accomplish this the MEDC will work with existing and prospective industrial / business organizations interested in expanding their existing operation, locating a site to establish and operate a new entity or for the relocation of their plant or service operation to Meridian.
Mission Statement
The MEDC will work all sources to facilitate the creation of jobs in the city and surrounding area and to address issues affecting the creation of jobs.
The MEDC will work with and support existing agencies and groups that have as their objective the enhancement of tourism in Meridian to see those objectives are met.
